Dass Ramadass


Dass is a former HPU Alumni who graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors in Business Administration in 1985. He was awarded the outstanding student award in addition to a full scholarship for a Masters in Business Administration. He joined National Mortgage and Finance Company, Ltd. in 1986 as an intern and was later tasked as a Commercial Property Manager responsible for commercial properties in Honolulu and Guam. He also successfully initiated the start up of several new housing developments for the City and County of Honolulu’s Housing Division in the 1990s. With over 30 years of property management experience, Dass is currently the President of Hawaiian Properties, Ltd, which has grown from an original staff of 10 to 140, managing more than 228 associations on Oahu and 62 associations on the island of Hawaii.

Cathy Mak

Chief Financial Officer

Cathy Mak joined Hawaiian Properties as Director of Finance, and was  promoted to Chief Financial Officer, effective January 2022.  She is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive strategies that optimize financial and accounting processes and increase efficiency. She brings more than 25 years of extensive experience excelling in financial leadership roles, most recently, Vice President, Finance, at Aqua-Aston Hospitality.

Cathy thrives at leading large-scale system implementations to promote operational excellence. By blending her expertise in strategic planning, corporate finance, systems migrations, and project management, she effectively collaborates with senior teams to develop and execute action plans that advance the corporate vision. Resourcefulness, adaptability, and professional versatility enable her to quickly meet arising business needs in fast-paced and high-pressure environments.

Cathy graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Hawaii Pacific University with a Bachelor of Science Business Administration degree in Travel Industry Management. She then earned her Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Accounting with distinction and passed the Certified Public Accountant Examination. She is a board member at Sui Wah School Development Advisory Committee, which helps to promote the Chinese language and culture to the local residents in Hawaii. She is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

Jeff Dickinson

Vice President / Director for Hawaiian Properties Corporate Board of Directors

Jeff came to Hawaiian Properties as Vice President and Senior Property Manager with a rich background in property management.  He assists with training and special projects and also works closely with developers such as JL Capital, Prospac Development, and Stanford Carr Development.  His wealth of experience with complex allocation of expense issues is a major asset for mixed use AOAO projects.  He worked on the AOAO initiation of Hokua, Capitol Place and most recently Azure Ala Moana and Keauhou Place.  He previously managed the iconic Ilikai Apartment Building comprised of 1,025 units, Harbor Court, The Villa on Eaton Square, and Ko'olani.  Jeff is a graduate of Linfield College in Oregon with a Bachelor of Science in Management.

Kanani Kaopua

Senior Vice President

Kanani, CMCA®, PCAM®, joined Hawaiian Properties, Ltd. as a Principal Account Executive for several large scale master planned communities with an extensive background in AOAO residential communities. She served as a Board/Developer liaison for residential, commercial, and resort developments across the island, and provided training and educational seminars for owners new to the association lifestyle. Public speaking and presentations highlighting Board responsibility, covenants enforcement, and creating a fiscally sound budget are among the many values she brings to Hawaiian Properties, Ltd. Kanani is an honors graduate in Business Management from the University of Phoenix. She volunteers her time as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for the State Judiciary, and enjoys Insanity fitness and weight-training.

Kevin Agena (B)

Senior Vice President

Kevin has more than 35 years in the industry and started his career with Hawaiian Properties more than 20 years ago as a property manager.  In addition to overseeing a team of property managers and managing a handful of associations, he is currently one of Hawaiian Properties’ senior development specialists.  He has collaborated with several real estate developers to successfully initiate the startup of their condominium projects including the most recent, 801 South Street.  Kevin’s hobby is woodworking and can build anything from furniture to jewelry boxes, to clocks. 

Daniel Kent

Vice President / Sr. Property Manager

Daniel joined Hawaiian Properties in August 2018 as Vice President and Senior Property Manager. With the two-pronged focus of helping provide top notch professional management services to existing and new luxury high-rise clientele, while also playing a lead role on their corporate strategic team focusing on industry innovation. He returns home to Hawaii from Portland, Oregon, where he served as senior property manager for Community Management Inc., managing mixed use high- and mid-rise condominiums, historic buildings, single-family and townhome developments and master associations including recreation centers representing more than 3,000 units. Daniel has previously served as a committee clerk in the Hawaii State Legislature for three years to one of the senior House committee chairs, along with working at one of the largest local banks prior to that. Kent is a graduate of Punahou School and Willamette University in Salem, Oregon.

Tylor Hansen

Vice President/Senior Property Manager

Tylor Hansen, Vice President and Senior Property Manager, brings with him more than a decade of association management experience.  He is a results-oriented individual, highly motivated, and well organized.  His core values include a culture of accountability, integrity, best business practices and ethics. 

In his previous position as Partner/Co-President of Pelican Management, LLC, Tylor managed the company’s assets, day-to-day operations, and 10 associates.  The company managed 105 associations totaling 20,750 units.  His ability to multi-task at a high level enabled him to successfully perform all of his responsibilities, in addition to performing other administrative, fiscal, and physical association management functions.  He currently holds the Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA®) credential from the Community Associations Institute (CAI).  He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sports Management and a Minor in Business Administration from Principia College. 

Kathy Cooley

Vice President/Senior Property Manager, Kona Branch
Kathy has worked in the community association management industry since 1999 and is knowledgeable in all areas of association and property management. She holds the Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM®), Association Management Specialist (AMS®), and Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA®) designations from the Community Associations Institute (CAI). In her most recent position, she oversaw a team of 15 staff and 68 associations.

Benjamin Voss

Vice President / Sr. Property Manager
Residential/Commercial Department

For the past 25 years, Ben Voss has built his brand and reputation by enhancing customer experience and satisfaction across industries—including Real Estate. Prior to extending this passion to Hawaiian Properties, for the past 7 years, Ben served as Vice President for one of the largest privately-owned rental property management companies, Oishi’s Property Management, on Oahu. He was a hands-on senior property manager, provided oversight to more than 1,600 units, and strived to deliver excellent property management services to all of the firm’s clients.

A creative thinker and native Californian, he has lived on the islands for more than 20 years, driving sales and marketing for fortune 500 companies.

When he’s not working, Ben enjoys spending time with family, mountain biking, hiking and any outdoor activity.

Kristi Hirota-Schmidt

Vice President of Business Development

Kristi is Vice President of Business Development. She joined Hawaiian Properties, Ltd. in January 2016 to lead and grow its marketing efforts. Prior to joining Hawaiian Properties, Ltd. Kristi was involved with the sales and marketing division of one of the largest management companies in the state of Hawaii for 10 years. Most recently, she was the VP of Marketing, with oversight for sales and marketing for Oahu, Maui, Kauai, Lanai and the Big Island and coordinated the company's advertising and community outreach efforts. Selected as one of Hawaii's top young business leaders in the Pacific Business News "Forty Under 40 2009", Kristi is currently the President of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), Secretary of the Rotary Club of West Honolulu, Assistant Treasurer for the Host Organization Committee – 2020 Rotary International Convention, and Past-President for the West Oahu Economic Development Association (WOEDA). She has volunteered as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for abused and neglected children, Grief Facilitator for Kids Hurt Too, and served as Vice President of Membership for Toastmasters International and Vice President of Fundraising for the Rotary Club of Metropolitan. Kristi holds a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Hawaii.

Margaret Lim

Administrative Coordinator
Margaret joined Hawaiian Properties, Ltd. in 2005 as an Administrative Office Manager, with over 20 years of experience working in the property management field. She was born and raised in the tropical island of Mauritius, where she studied Fashion Design and Fine Arts and previously assisted in her father's business administrating employees' records and bookkeeping services. At Hawaiian Properties, Ltd., Margaret's current responsibilities include overseeing all administrative and office functions. She is also responsible for the ongoing training and orientation of our administrative staff. Margaret enjoys spending her free time drawing and reading, while also teaching Sunday Bible class to the 2nd and 3rd graders.
